Voucher Details

• Vouchers cost $50 and we only accept cash.

• Vouchers are sold on the first Saturday of every month at the American Legion in Murphysboro, IL (1700 Gartside St.). (We may have additional times and locations, which will be announced on our Facebook page.)

• Vouchers will begin to sell at 9am. However, the line begins to form earlier and names will be written down on paper in order (first come, first served); once we reach 30 people, we stop the list. Please line up at the back door, on the parking lot side of the building.

• One voucher per household per month.

• Absolutely NO refunds if lost, stolen, misplaced, thrown out, etc. – NO EXCEPTIONS!

• Animals need to be at least 4 months of age.

• The voucher must be used within 90 days of being issued.

Veterinarian Details

• We will provide you with a list of participating vets.

• THE VOUCHER DOES NOT INCLUDE any vet-required vaccines; post-surgical care, medications, protective equipment, or complications. When scheduling your appointment, please advise them that you are using a “Pennies for Pets” voucher and confirm what is covered.

• You don’t have to live in Jackson County to purchase a voucher, but the voucher can only be used at a participating vet (which are in Jackson, Randolph, and Williamson Counties).

What to bring:

• Your ID (for record-keeping purposes only)

• $50 cash

We usually also give away free dog/cat food and flea/tick preventative for anyone who is in need. First come, first served basis.
